Perspectives 2
What is Perspectives II? A school? A community? A meeting place? It really is a combination of all of these things. A place where young men and women meet in an environment that promotes well being and healthy lifestyles. As a school we teach the Ministry of Education curriculum at the Secondary 4 and 5 levels. We also have a Transitions Program for students who want to move into the workforce more quickly. As a school we promote an athletic program that includes Jiu-Jitsu, Basketball and Soccer. Our juvenile soccer team competes in the GMAA (Greater Montreal Athletic Association) and despite our small size we made it to the quarter finals in 2010. Our Basketball team competes in the Alternative Basketball League and placed 4th this year. Our Jiu-Jitsu program trains twice a week and members compete in tournaments across the city. We have a Music and Art program that are second to none for a school of our size.
Our real strength is as a community; students and staff shape a space where the needs of all are considered and everyone is listened to. A student at P2 knows that they are in a place where their individual talents and needs are recognized. Staff members also know that they are in a place where their input and skills are valued. As a community P2 is a place where education is individualized not institutionalized.
Finally we are a meeting place. A place that honors the diversity and personality of all. P2 is a fun place to be!
